It's Official! Ewan McGregor Will Return As Obi-Wan Kenobi For A Disney+ Series

Hello nerds!

Ewan McGregor will once again play the beloved Jedi Master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. And it’s about damn time.

During D23, the news was revealed by the president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, and McGregor himself, that Obi-Wan will indeed return in a series for Disney+. For those keeping score at home, the Kenobi show makes the third live-action Star Wars series set for the streaming service.

It joins shows for Rogue One’s rebel spy and snarky droid sidekick, Cassian Andor and K-2SO, and The Mandalorian. Plus, these will stream along with all of the other absolutely stellar shows from Marvel, and a docuseries hosted by Jeff Goldblum. But I digress.

The untitled Obi-Wan series starts production next year, so a 2021 premiere is likely. And while I think we just might catch McGregor as Force ghost Obi-Wan in The Rise of Skywalker, we can all definitely can see him in the sequel to Stephen King's The Shining, Doctor Sleep.
