Aug 26 Holy Sith! Rey Turns To The Dark Side In The Rise Of Skywalker?

Hello nerds!

By now, I’m sure you’ve all heard about the footage from Star Wars:The Rise of Skywalker that was screened during Disney’s D23. If not, the footage has been heavily discussed across the interwebs, as it featured more than a few surprises; least of which being a tease of Rey turning to the Dark side. If we think about it, this is more than likely a Force dream, but still.

The trailer begins with a recap of the entire the Skywalker Saga to date, and then it gets into The Rise of Skywalker footage. We get glimpses of General Leia Organa, Finn, Poe, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, Rey, a possible evil C-3PO, BB-8, and some of the new faces we’ve yet to be introduced to. But, it’s the shot of Darth Rey, and a voice over from Emperor Palpatine telling someone “your journey nears its end” with some Vader-breathes afterwards that is really intriguing. Eerie for sure, but also intriguing.

All in all, between the new film, and series for Obi-Wan Kenobi , Rogue One’s Cassian Andor and K-2SO, and the fantastic looking The Mandalorian, it’s a pretty good time to be a Star Wars fan.

Star Wars:The Rise of Skywalker blasts into theaters on December 20, 2019.
