We've Got A Symbiote Origin In The New Trailer For Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Hello nerds!

The newest trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage is stuffed with the kinds of humor and fantastic looking visuals fans of the first film have come to expect. And this footage reveals the origins of Cletus Kasady’s symbiote, Carnage. Fans of the Spider-Man comics will notice an update to Carnage’s origin, but it works quite well.

Plus, with a not so subtle nod to the MCU, via The Daily Bugle online, and the inclusion of Cletus’ comic book girlfriend, the villainous mutant Shriek, one has to wonder if Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, and by extension, the MCU multiverse will play any part in this movie. Imagine if the slow burn introduction to mutants in the MCU continues in a Sony movie. Weird, right? But entirely possible.

Here’s hoping the rumors of J.K. Simmons appearing as J. Jonah Jameson in this movie are true.

Directed by Andy Serkis, and starring Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Reid Scott, Naomie Harris, and Woody Harrelson as Cletus Kasady/Carnage, Venom: Let There Be Carnage swings into theaters this fall.

Tom Hardy returns to the big screen as the lethal protector Venom, one of MARVEL’s greatest and most complex characters. Directed by Andy Serkis, the film also stars Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris and Woody Harrelson, in the role of the villain Cletus Kasady/Carnage.

We sat down and watched some stuff. And then talked about it.

First up, the good, the bad, and the vexing of Marvel's Black Widow. Then, the mind-bending dopeness that are the final two episodes of Marvel's Loki and its impact on the Marvel multiverse. And a pair of familiar "faces" are rumored to appear in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series.
