Star Wars:Episode IX Is Getting Merry As Dominic Monaghan Joins The Cast!
According to a report from Deadline, one of the most well-liked characters from Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings has joined the Star Wars Universe. Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck played smashingly by Dominic Monaghan will reunite with Lost creator J.J. Abrams for Star Wars: Episode IX.
Monaghan offered a few words and sounds pumped to be joining yet another iconic franchise in pop culture history.
Excellent! Monaghan is a great actor and having literally just finished re-watching the LOTR films, I could not think of a better addition to the already superb cast for Star Wars: Episode IX. Details on Monaghan's role are not yet available, so all we really know is he'll be joining other Star Wars newcomer, Keri Russell, in an unspecified role.
For those unfamiliar, the untitled final chapter to the Skywalker saga will see both Carrie Fisher and Mark hamill are returning as Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker, alongside Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, played by the great Billy Dee Williams. They'll join the likes of Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Lupita N'yong'o and Anthony Daniels.
Star Wars: Episode IX hits theaters on December 20, 2019.
