Hello nerds!

As if manifested by the Force itself, I bring what some would call a miracle. Yes friends, the long awaited Obi-Wan movie is finally happening and with that, there is a great disturbance. In the proverbial pants.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Stephen Daldry, producer and sometimes director of The Crown, is in talks to "oversee the development and writing with Lucasfilm brass". Basically, he'll both write and direct the film. Sadly, there's no indication as to when in Obi-Wan's life the movie will be set, which also means we don't know who will be playing our beloved Obi-Wan. However, if it is anyone other than Ewan McGregor, I will likely shit myself with bombastic rage.

I, us, we, everyone out there wants Ewan McGregor to don the jedi robes once again and yield the 'saber, Ewan McGregor included. McGregor was on Jimmy Kimmel Live in May and when asked about the film he made it seem like all he needs is for the studio to say the word and he's ready to go.

I’ve been asked this question so many times, and I answer the questions when I’m asked them because I’ve been brought up like that, polite.

And it’s gotten to the point where it looks like I’m touting for work at Disney’s front door. Like, ‘Give me the Obi-Wan spinoff,’ you know.

Of course, I’d be happy to do it.

Yes, Lucasfilm and Disney. Give him what he wants, because he's got the high ground. Let the Jedi win.

With no release date given for the Obi-Wan movie, you've got to wonder if it'll be the as of yet announced 2020 Star Wars movie. Of course, that date might also belong to the standalone films for Yoda and Boba Fett.

I agree. "Holy shit", indeed. It's a cornucopia of riches.
