While best known for bringing the funny, Keegan-Michael Key is looking to branch out a bit and flex his chops in the sci-fi action genre. One half of the oft missed and undoubtedly brilliant, Key and Peele, K-MK has been cast in Shane Black's "The Predator". In this latest installment of the Predator franchise, he joins an impressive cast that includes Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes and Zoolander 2's Olivia Munn. From the sounds of the synopsis that was provided, it appears things are going to get pretty savage in the 'burbs.

The setting for the new story is suburbia, a place in which audiences haven’t seen the Predator creature in action. Holbrook and Rhodes are ex-Marines while Munn is a scientist. Key will play a man who teams up with Holbrook and Rhodes to fight the creatures.

All in all, I'm really intrigued by this cast so far. As a lifelong fan of most of the Predator movies I'm glad to see a big comedy star cast in this movie. Some of the best parts of the original Predator are those that break the levity. Coincidentally, those moments feature Shane Black himself. Fingers crossed that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover both return to franchise. I'd love to see two of the BAMFs of the franchise take on that one ugly MF.
