It Has Begun. Tom Holland To Appear In Venom 2!

Hello nerds!

A while back it was announced Venom 2 would be officially happening, with the amazing Andy Serkis directing. Since then we haven’t really heard very much about the film, but thankfully that’s all about to change. If rumor can be believed, Venom will finally come face to face with their true nemesis.

Per a report from GWW, Tom Holland will indeed be in Venom 2. Apparently, Holland’s name appeared on a casting breakdown as none other than Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. As it seems, the long-awaited Venom-verse debut of the Sony owned Web-slinger will be happening this year.

Holland joins the returning cast of Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, and Woody Harrelson as the maniacal serial killer turned symbiote-host, Cletus Kasady/Carnage. Venom 2 will be one of Sony’s biggest movies of 2020, and Spider-Man’s inclusion is the next logical step for the Venom-verse.

While Spidey’s time in the MCU isn’t quite over, it might be one day. So, establishing him in their billion dollar franchise is a good move by Sony. Between Venom and Jared Leto's Morbius, the Sony-Marvel properties might give the MCU, and the ever-improving DC universe, a run for their money this year.

Venom 2 swings into theaters on October 2, 2020.
