I Ain't Afraid Of No Zombies? A Couple of Ghostbusters Join Zombieland 2
Over the summer, a sequel to 2009's Zombieland was announced and it was also revealed the original creative team and cast were all set to return. Better late than never, right?
Considering the first movie was more good than it was bad, and it was a financial success, a sequel always seemed a foregone conclusion. Well, there might be a bit more reason to get excited about this one because if the rumors can be believed, two comedy giants are joining the cast.
Per a report from Geeks Worldwide, the near-immortal Bill Murray will be returning in the sequel and he’ll be bringing fellow Ghostbuster, Dan Aykroyd along for the ride. The two titans of 80s comedy will join Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin and Jesse Eisenberg whom are all returning to their respective roles.
This time around, the gang will not only have to contend with more evolved zombies, but the pains that come with being a family. And with director Ruben Fleischer is back at the helm, and being based off a script by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick, Zombieland 2 should be a pretty fun next chapter to the franchise. And yet so many questions remain.
How many new survivor can we expect to meet? What in the hell does a mindess, flesh-eating zombie evolve into? Just how zombied will Bill Murray be and will Dan Aykroyd tend to him; like a pet? Does the pairing of two of the OG Ghostbusters mean we could actually see a new streaming series for everyone’s favorite paranormal police? Ah, the future is looking both frightening and hilarious.
Zombieland 2 rips its way into theaters on October 11, 2019.
