Guess Who's Back? The Spider-Verse Arrives In The Teaser Trailer For Spider-Man: No Way Home

Hello friends!

Following the leak of the incomplete and grainy as hell footage of the Spider-Man: No Way Home teaser trailer, Sony has released the full, finished and HD version. And holy shit! It’s. So. Damn. Good.

No Way Home picks up directly following the events of Spider-Man: Far From Home, where following the fatal defeat of Mysterio, Spider-Man’s identity as Peter Parker is revealed to the world. As expected, this movie is leaning quite heavily into the Spider-Man comics arc, One More Day, where Spidey makes a deal with the actual devil to make his identity a secret once more. As you can imagine, it goes horribly.

From the looks of things in the teaser, Peter Parker is desperate to reclaim his life after J Jonah Jameson’s reveal that Parker is indeed Spider-Man. Enter one Doctor Stephen Strange, Master of the Mystic Arts, whom against the advice of a fellow magic-wielder Wong, takes it upon himself to help Peter. At this point, all hell breaks loose and our heroes come face to face with the "Multiverse of Madness”, that has unfolded following the various events of the WandaVision and Loki series.

As for the footage itself, there’s plenty of superhero antics and mind-bending FX to enjoy as we see Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and his new suits swing into action against villains hailing from the other Spider-Man live-action franchises.

In addition to an electrical storm we can safely assume is caused Jamie Foxx's Electro, we’ve got a pumpkin bomb accompanied by the eerie cackle of Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, and our MCU Spider-Man comes face to face with Alfred Molina’s de-aged, Doctor Otto Octavius. This movie could be glorious. Sadly, at this time, no other Spider-people have been officially confirmed to join the fray.

$5 says we’ll get our first glimpse of Andrew and Tobey’s respective Spider-Men when the full trailer drops in a few weeks. I’m still holding out hope the studio gives us an utterly amazing gift by also introducing Mile Morales in this movie. One can dream. And while the film is currently slated for a theater only release, I’ve got a hunch we may be able to see this one from the comfort of our homes this Christmas.

Spider-Man: No Way Home starring Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Willem Dafoe, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire swings into theaters (allegedly) on December 17, 2021.

For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero is unmasked and no longer able to separate his normal life from the high-stakes of being a Super Hero. When he asks for help from Doctor Strange the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man.

We sat down and watched some stuff. And then talked about it.

Spider-Man: No Way Home looks like an utterly amazing, team-up adventure through the multiverse, even if it's adapting one of Marvel's worst comic book flops. Some movie studios really want to do away with home premieres. And we need your help putting together the list of the best werewolf movies (non-CGI).
