Whatever You Say, Andy. Rick Grimes Will Never Be On The Walking Dead Again?
Following the utter bullshit that was Rick Grimes’ last episode of AMC’s The Walking Dead, Andrew Lincoln confirms his time sweating ass in a Georgia swamp is indeed at an end.
In an interview with the New York Times, Lincoln confirms we’ve seen the last of the brooding zombie-slayer on Sunday nights for a few weeks a year.
Sure thing, slick. While it was revealed some time ago, Andrew Lincoln would leave TWD so he could spend more time with his family, we know for a fact he isn’t done tracking down “stuff n thangs”.
The Walking Dead executive producer Scott Gimple announced Lincoln will return for three big budget movies for AMC; the first one will focus on Jadis’ helicopter rescue of Lincoln’s character at the end of Rick’s “last” episode. So, maybe he should ease up a bit on being so definitive about not returning to the weekly series.
After all, this is The Walking Dead and it makes an huge amount of money for AMC and I’m sure they’re keen to keep the cash train a rollin’. Given the show’s declining ratings and these films are probably 4 or 5 years too late, I’m inclined to say ole Rick Grimes will stride back into the series before the end of Season 11. At the latest.
I mean, if the show gets cancelled, who could possibly give a shit about a Rick Grimes trilogy?
