These Muppets Are Savage AF In The New Red Band Trailer For The Happytime Murders

Hello nerds!

The Happytime Murders starring Melissa McCarthy looks fucking hilarious. If you like buddy cop/murder mysteries with Muppets and drugs then you’re in luck. The new Red Band trailer for the movie has all of those things.

Directed by Brian Henson, son of The Muppets creator Jim Henson, The Happytime Murders takes place in a world where puppets and humans both exist IRL. Exciting, I know.

Well, as things go in buddy cop movies, some people get killed... er, Muppets. I should say "Muppets" get killed and it's up to former cop-turned private eye, Phil Phillips (muppet) voiced by Bill Barretta, to hunt this killer down. To do it, he'll have to reunite with his ex-partner, Detective Connie Edwards (human), played by Melissa McCarthy. Let the hilarity ensue.

Hell frickin' yes! I am so looking forward to this movie. Having what some would call an affinity for "low brow" humor and growing up on all things Muppet, I'm terribly intrigued by the world they're presenting in this movie.

Melissa McCarthy has a direct link the giggle lobe of my brain and having her be a detective in a world that is reminiscent of the gone too soon Greg The Bunny (eat shit Fox), is about as perfect of a casting choice as you can get. I think I'll just go ahead and pre-order the Blu Ray as soon as its available.

The Happytime Murders starring Melissa McCarthy, Maya Rudolph, Elizabeth Banks and Joel McHale is in theaters on August 24, 2018.
