The films of the Child's Play franchise, like most of the "old guard" of horror films, have progressively gotten campier as the sequels pile up, but with a couple of exceptions, they're all good movies.

The concept of a stabby doll who can quip with the best of them while he's on a murder rampage is both terrifying and hilarious, so campy seemed the logical progression. Arguably, too much campiness caused the franchise to go off the rails a bit in Bride of Chucky and then they fully fell the fuck off in Seed of Chucky. Thankfully, Curse of Chucky came along and helped the franchise recover nicely and the latest installment, Cult of Chucky, looks to continue the trend.

Brace yourselves, because this fucker looks horrifying.

Andy, Nica and Tiffany all return to tie every Child's Play movie to one another. And from the looks of it, the studio for trying to go with as many practical fx as possible. In horror, there really is no better way. Respect.

Cult of Chucky will be available on unrated Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital on October 3.

For those who haven't' seen it, there are a couple of different post-credits scenes from Curse of Chucky that featured the tease the returns of both Tiffany and Andy to the franchise. They're well worth the watch. Enjoy.
