The Apocalypse Looks Hilarious In The First Trailer For Good Omens

Hello nerds!

With the fantastic looking live-action adaptation of Garth Ennis’ The Boys hitting the streaming service, and the upcoming Lord Of The Rings show, Amazon is becoming a real source of fantastic programming. And if the trailer is any indication, they’ve got another great one on the way with Good Omens.

For those unfamiliar, the show is based on the novel by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, and is about an angel, played by Michael Sheen, and a demon played by David Tennant. The duo are reluctant partners in a plan to stop the apocalypse from happening. They've grown accustomed to their cushy lives in England and don't want the world to end, so they decide to do something about it. It’s definitely my kind of weird.

And it doesn't hurt that Gaiman is both writing and showrunning on this one.

Yup, I can confirm this show will be binged like a motherfricker. Amazon isn’t going cheap on the budgets for these shows and they’re landing some truly top level production and acting talent.

This superb cast also features Josie Lawrence, Derek Jacobi, Adria Arjona, Miranda Richardson, Michael McKean, Nick Offerman and Jon Hamm. Like I said, top level. Plus, the source material is fucking brilliant.

Good Omens launches on Amazon Video in 2019, with an airing on BBC Two to follow.
