Quick Hitters: All Spider-Man Edition! No Spidey Sense? Peter Parker In Iron Man 2 & Homecoming Introduces An Oscar Winner Into The MCU!

Peter Parker Was In Iron Man 2

Do you think that Captain America: Civil War was the debut of Peter Parker in the MCU? Well, you'd be wrong. Apparently.

It's been confirmed by our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man himself, that the plucky little tyke who was wearing an Iron Man mask while trying to blast one of Justin Hammer's drones in Iron Man 2 was indeed Peter Parker.

In a recent interview, Tom Holland let this spoiler of the past loose on the world and likely melted a few minds.

I can confirm that is Peter Parker. I can confirm that as of today. I literally had a conversation with Kevin Feige only 20 minutes ago. Maybe I’ve just done a big, old spoiler, but it’s out there now. It’s cool. I like the idea that Peter Parker has been in the universe since the beginning.

If you do the math, it actually lines up fairly well. Now, was it always meant to be this way? Maybe it was always set-up to be a future Avenger that tried to help Iron Man as a kid and Spider-Man coming to the MCU just worked out nicely. Or was it supposed to be a throw away and due to internet theories, it's now become a part of MCU lore? At this point, it doesn't really matter. Afterall, it's pretty effing cool either way.

Peter Parker Has Spider Sense. Just Doesn't Use It?

Thanks to the trailer and those lucky few who have actually seen Spider-Man: Homecoming, there seems to be an outstanding issue that has to be addressed. Does Peter Parker have Spidey sense or not? In one of the trailers, the affable Ned essentially gets the drop on ole Spidey in his very own bedroom and apparently there's no  mention of Peter's precognitive abilities in the film.

Well, in an interview with IGN, MCU boss Kevin Feige was asked whether Peter has the sense or not and he confirms that while we haven't yet seen it in the MCU, it does indeed exist as one of Spider-Man's abilities.

No, I think he has it. And I think he has it with or without that suit. I think how we explore it in a cinematic sense will change. I mean, that was sort of a big showy part of previous versions and we thought that we’d make it more of an internal, sort of second nature thing for him.

It sounds to me like Spidey's AI will be doing the bulk of the sensing while Peter is suited up. And speaking of K.A.R.E.N., it has been confirmed the actress voicing Spidey's AI has a couple of connections to Marvel.

I Know That Voice. Oscar Winner Jennifer Connelly Voices Spidey-Suit AI!

Oscar Winner Jennifer Connelly has joined the MCU and at the same time re-joined Marvel films. For those who haven't seen it, there was a previous Hulk movie (2003) and she starred as first big screen version of Betty Ross. Well, this time around Connelly is utilizing her voice by appearing in Spider-Man: Homecoming as K.A.R.E.N., the AI in Spidey's suit.

For pudding, Connelly is married to Paul Bettany aka J.A.R.V.I.S. aka Vision. Pretty cool, right? The real question is why cast someone of her talents to only use her voice? The same questions when Paul Bettany was cast as J.A.R.V.I.S. and we all know how that ended up. $5 says that somewhere down the line we see Connelly debut as Jocasta in the MCU.
