Through all of the carnage and spectacle of SDCC, a few gems shined brighter than most and the trailer for Thor:Ragnarok is one of them. The more we see of this movie, the better it looks. Ragnarok seems to be quietly morphing into a Guardians or Avengers team movie, and with the superheroes in this one it could be quite the formidable squad.
So much yay! Still questions remain. Why is Loki not Odin anymore? Where the hell is Odin? How does Thor wind up with the Guardians at the end of this movie? Does Hela referring to herself as the Goddess of Death mean she'll serve as the Death replacement and be the object of Thanos' desires? Answers must be delivered.
Director Taika Waititi could be giving us Thor's best outing yet. From the cast, to the tone, to the costumes, to the CGI, it's a refreshing direction for the God of Thunder. Other than Black Panther, Ragnarok looks like it could be the last bit of fun we'll have in the MCU for quite some time, especially if the rumors about Infinity War are even partially true, so sit back and enjoy.
Also, check out the freaking phenomenal new poster. I might have to pick this one up, because it would be perfect mounted next to my Sting replica. The sword., not the singer.
Thor: Ragnarok smashes into theaters on November 3, 2017.
