New Marvel Animated Shows Will Star A Duck, A Monkey, A Mutant, And More.

Hello nerds!

Marvel will develop a crap-ton of Animated TV shows for Hulu, which is great. However, the shows will be based on some beloved Marvel characters most are probably unfamiliar with.

The individual series will focus on Tigra & Dazzler (a member of the X-Men, which only brings up more questions), Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K., and motherfrickin’ Hit-Monkey. Then the group will come together, in a special of its own, to form The Offenders. Think Netflix’s The Defenders, only done right. And thanks to THR, we’ve got a synopsis for each show and we know some of the creative powers behind them.

These shows could be vastly intriguing.

• M.O.D.O.K. centers around an egomaniacal supervillain with a really big head and a really little body, who struggles to maintain control of his evil organization and his demanding family. Writers Jordan Blum and Patton Oswalt will also executive produce.

• Hit-Monkey tells the tale of a wronged Japanese snow monkey, mentored by the ghost of an American assassin, as he cuts a wide swath through the Tokyo underworld in this darkly cinematic and brutally funny revenge saga. Writers Josh Gordon and Will Speck will executive produce.

• Tigra & Dazzler Show is a story about two woke superheroes and best friends, Tigra and Dazzler, as they fight for recognition among powered people who make up the eight million stories in Los Angeles. Writers Erica Rivinoja and Chelsea Handler serve as executive producers.

• Howard the Duck is trapped in a world he never made, but America’s favorite fighting fowl hopes to return home with the help of his unstoppable gal pal Beverly before the evil Dr. Bong can turn him the crispiest dish on the menu. Writers Kevin Smith and Dave Willis will also executive produce.

• The Offenders follows MODOK, Dazzler, Tigra, Hit Monkey and Howard the Duck as they are all forced to team up in order to save the world and certain parts of the universe.

Oo-de-lally! I am actually very freaking excited for these shows. The vast majority of these characters are an abyss-like deep pull for non-comic literate viewers, but I’m willing to say we’re all in for some fun. And these shows joining the other Marvel series on Hulu, means the streaming service will soon be the only home for Marvel TV.

Only Jessica Jones and The Punisher left standing after the cancellation of Daredevil, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. So, it stands to reason it’s only a matter of time before Jessica and Frank are “dusted” by Netflix. Which only increases the odds of them all being resurrected, on Disney+, alongside Scarlet Witch and Vision, Falcon and Bucky, and Loki.

Let’s hope they all make it back to the land of the living in Avengers:Endgame.
