More Like Albus Yum-bledore, Am I Right? Here's The First Look At Jude Law From Fantastic Beasts 2
Ever since news of Jude Law being cast as Albus Dumbledore in Fantastic Beasts 2 broke, fans have been waiting eagerly for a peek at what exactly he would look like and I'm happy to say that our wait is over.
Courtesy of the Fantastic Beasts Twitter, we've got both our first look at the always handsome Jude Law as the future "Greatest Headmaster Hogwarts Has Ever Known", and the full title of the film.
Consider my Expecto-tations fulfilled. The only thing missing are the iconic half-moon glasses and super-rad hat, but I'll deal. Holy shit, does Jude Law look about perfect or what? Rhetorical, because he obviously looks perfect as Dumbledore. I have to admit, that it's surprising how much Law embodies traits and characteristics of both of the men to previously don the robes of Albus Dumbledore, Richard Harris and Michael Gambon.
With alleged scumbag Johnny Depp playing villainous Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (and that's fine. That title is fine), this movie absolutely needed someone who could fill the supremely big shoes of his predecessors and Law fits the bill. So much so, that Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald executive producer David Heyman spoke very highly of Law's portrayal.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Heyman talked about the Dumbledorean qualities that Law brings to the character, and why his portayal will make you pine even more for a Hogwart's acceptance letter.
As a more than, what some would call die hard, Harry Potter fan, I'm a bit torn about this movie. One on hand, I'm terribly excited for a return to the wizarding world, and the photo of the returning cast from Fantastic Beasts 1, plus Jude Law are a welcome sight. On the other hand, Johnny Depp. Definitely feeling a need to wash the other hand.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Apparates into theaters on November 16, 2018.
