Love That Joker, Even If He Is Frightening. Here's The Final Trailer For Joker

Hello nerds!

The final trailer for DC’s upcoming origin story of the Clown Prince of Crime has arrived, and we might be in for something special.

From director Todd Phillips, and starring Joaquin Phoenix and Zazie Beetz, Joker is a story about Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck, and Arthur has had a bit of a bad run lately. Finally, he snaps and is reborn as one of the most sadistic, evil geniuses to plague Gotham city.

For those unfamiliar, Joker will adapt the One Bad Day story from The Killing Joke, which is one possibly one of the most fascinating origin stories for a villain. And from the looks of the trailer, DC might have an amazing film on their hands.

Damn.

Joaquin Phoenix could deliver one of the best performances we’ve seen with his take on the Joker. And considering Henry Cavill’s time as Superman is over and Ben Affleck will not be returning as Batman, the DC live action universe could use some more film franchises; outside of Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, and Ezra Miller’s The Flash that is.

DC has an untapped wealth of characters and stories could be made into compelling films and TV series, so it’s nice to see WB/DC figuring their shit out. Thankfully, there’s an upcoming plethora of new movies and TV shows coming for fans of DC comics with James Gunn’s Suicide Squad, The Sandman series on Netflix, and the Harley Quinn cartoon headed for the DC Universe streaming service.

Joker is in theaters on October 4, 2019.
