Bon Appétit, Again? A Return For Hannibal Lecter Is Possible

Hello nerds!

If you’re a fan of the TV series Hannibal, like myself, you’ve been holding out hope for at least one more season of the vastly underrated series. As it happens, one of the stars of the series has revealed hope is indeed not yet lost for Hanni-Graham shippers the world over.

In an exclusive interview with Bloody Disgusting, Hannibal himself, aka Mads Mikkelsen, had some tantalizing words about the possibility of a return to the deliciously twisted world of Hannibal The Cannibal.

Yeah, I think there’s always new hope. I haven’t heard anything specific. I know Bryan is still working on some ideas where we can find a new home for this. I also have a strong feeling that everybody who was involved in it would gladly pick up the glove again if that happens.

Frickin’ awesome! I know nothing is confirmed, but it’s pretty great to know the creative parties involved in bringing the series to life are not only onboard for more, but Fuller is proactively trying to find the show a new home. If and when that happens, we can then begin to wonder about a possible story direction and thankfully, ole Mads has shed some light on that as well.

Hello Clarice…

I know that [Fuller] was working to get the rights to Silence of the Lambs so he could get in there and use some of those characters for his own universe. I have a hunch that might be where we’re going.

Nice!

I really dug the show, and would really like to see more seasons. Granted, the show did suffer a lot due being on NBC, there were some weird pacing at times, but all in all, Hannibal still stands as truly great television. And come on, if you liked the show, how could you not be the least be curious to see what Fuller could do with Hannibal Lecter, Will Graham, Clarice Starling, Jack Crawford and Buffalo Bill all under one roof?

Luckily, the rights to these characters reverted back in August, so let’s hope the series 4 season finds a home. Preferably, on a premium network or streaming service so the show can take full advantage of the dark and ultra-violent world of Hannibal Lecter. I wonder if Fuller will get his chance to work with Lee Pace, Ronan The Accuser from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s a more than solid candidate to play Buffalo Bill.
